Entering Administration for
the 308, 616 and 824 Norstar control units.
Administration
is for Time & Date, Speed Dial, Line & Set Names,
Capabilities, System-Wide Speed Dial, PRI & T-1 Configuration,
and all of the other programming aspects of your Nortel
Norstar telephone system. |
IMPORTANT
SECURITY NOTE: NEVER USE 1234, 4321, or any number consisting
of all the same digits, ie: 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555,
etc as a password for your voice mail. These combinations
are easily guessed, and hacked, by people who dial into
telephone systems and try to guess password codes. Norstar
NAM and CALL PILOT PASSWORDS can be up to EIGHT (8) DIGITS
IN LENGTH. The longer your password, the more secure
the access to your voicemail.
Note
about the Administration access code:
* * * C A U T I O N * * * SERIOUS DAMAGE CAN
BE DONE BY NON-QUALIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIANS! If incorrect
programming information is entered, it could render your
system inoperable! PLEASE CALL for information
on how to enter the programming mode of your Nortel Norstar

hour increments. Travel time may also be added
to the cost of your service call. Visa, MasterCard
and American Express accepted.
When
in programming just press the (next) button
until you see what you want to change. Then press (show),
then (change) if
you want to change it. If you pass the function you
want to access, just press (back)
EXAMPLE: To
change the TIME & DATE, Press (next) until
you see TIME & DATE in the two-line display on the
programming set. Then press (show), then (change),
then (change) again,
changing the TIME if you need, then (next) again
until you see what you need to change. Example;
if only the HOUR portion of the TIME field needs to be
changed for day light savings time, press (next) until
you come to the HOUR portion of the TIME and DATE entry
section of the programming. Change the HOUR, and
press (next). Then
press release (RLs) when
you are done making changes to exit the programming mode.
TIME & DATE Programming
If
you just need to change the TIME and DATE on your NORSTAR
system, then try the following:
"Feature

local telephone company provides CALLER ID, please remember
that the telephone switch in the central office may be off
by as much as 5 minutes from the actual time. Your
phones will be set to the telephone company time whenever
